What is CrowdRender exactly?
This might be your first time coming across our project, if not, skip ahead, otherwise, welcome to our distributed or network rendering system for rendering in Blender 😝
Our add-on is a simple tool used to accelerate rendering in Blender’s cycles and Eevee engines. We support rendering using CPU or GPU or both, Blender’s compositor is fully supported too and our add-on will work on Windows, Linux and macOS.
To get the most out of our add-on, you'll need at least two computers, and a project that is slooooooow. We have a free version available (supports Blender 2.93 LTS, due for a refresh once Blender 4.0 is out), and the addon is open source licensed under the GPL, so you have the ability to tinker with it if you so desire.
What’s in this release?
Here’s the TLDR
- Our add-on uses other python projects to help get stuff done, we used to bundle these, now we automatically install them when you enable the add-on. This means, if you can run Blender you can now run Crowdrender, more compatibility with more systems.
- We fixed an error when uninstalling the add-on on windows. If you click “remove” on our add-on in 2. Blender’s preferences, Blender would display an error, this has been fixed.
- We added a ‘check for updates’ button, now you’ll know when the next version is available, it will show up in the add-ons preferences, the button downloads and installs the latest version you have access to.
For more details you can check out our development blog where I talk about this release in a bit more detail.
Or, you can head straight to our download area where you can access our software, you'll need to create a free account, and the latest versions, including V0.6.4 require a paid subscription to access them.
