One of the Blender subcommunities that I don't report on is BlenderBIM - Blender add-on for architectural modeling (BIM stands for Building Information Modeling). In this two-part podcast, UH Studio Design Academy interviews Dion Moult, one of the forces behind this project and they take a deep dive into the project.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

Hey Bart! Thanks for posting this and apologies for not getting around to submitting news! A little clarification: The BlenderBIM Add-on is not a fork of Blender - it is only an add-on! (A very large add-on, to be sure, but merely an add-on nonetheless!)
Oh, sorry for misunderstanding that! I'll update the article, thanks.
