Edwin Spiegel explores how he can emulate some of Painter's capabilities using Blender's shader nodes.
In this high-speed video, he shows how he set up the following masks:
- AO mask - for adding dirt and creases.
- Edge mask - creating work out edges.
- Top/bottom mask - adding dust ect.
- Height mask - constraining a texture based on the height on the model.
Of course Substance Painter can do much more and with greater ease, but it's nice to see that with a little elbow grease and perseverance you can achieve similar results in Blender.
