INTRODUCTION
Hey! My name is Anna Solokhina, I'm from Russia, and I have been doing 3D art for about 2 years now. Before that, I worked as a graphic designer, but my lifelong passion for drawing led me to explore 3D art.
As a kid, I really liked video games like Shrek 2, Madagascar, Winx Club, etc. These games had cool worlds that inspired me and influenced my artistic style. Now I use Blender to create fun and playful 3D illustrations.
INSPIRATION
I am a big fan of the poolcore aesthetic, and I love interiors that feature numerous tiles on walls and floors. Thus, my initial idea was to create my own interior design with cute stuff.
To bring my vision to life, I collected various style, lighting, and color references. For setting and composition, I sometimes use MidJourney.
As references, I used the works of Mia Boas, Nicole Morena, Saiif, Yullia Morena, and other artists.
MODELING
After I collected the references, I started the modeling process. Instead of going through a block-out phase, I decided to directly model key elements of the design, such as the floors, walls, tiles, and furniture, which included a bath, a cabinet with a sink, and a window.
I used HDRI to monitor draft renders throughout the process and ensure a consistent final result.
Once I've finished the rough modeling, I move on to working on the details. At this stage, I can start to come up with an idea of the color palette and the final degree of stylization. This helps me ensure that everything in the scene fits together nicely.
MATERIAL
For materials, I usually use procedural Blender textures or create custom textures using Adobe Illustrator or Procreate. In this particular project, I primarily used the Principled BSDF shader with additional nodes for some materials.
To create the wood textures, I followed a tutorial and customized the setup to fit the specific needs of the scene.
Below are the materials I made,
LIGHTING
My goal was to keep the scene as light as possible.
I had several options, and I liked the one with sun highlights, but for such a detailed and non-contrast scene, it was too overloaded.
COLORS
This artwork was inspired by the color palette of Saiif work.

I liked the contrast between the cold and warm colors and decided to use a similar approach in my own work.
POST - PROCESS
I apply post-processing to all of my work. In this particular example, I made exposure and vibrance adjustments. Here are the before and after results.
