Blender's 4.0 release is right around the corner, and it's shaping up to be worthy of its momentous version number shift: Among the several groundbreaking new features coming up with this release, here's one I can say very few saw coming a few months back: Node Tools.

And while it might have been unexpected (for me at least), once I had my hands on it, it made so much sense, and the potential it holds is formidable. Node tools, in short, is the ability to transform any Geometry Nodes node group into an operator, useable in edit or sculpt mode (for now, with more to come in next versions)! Want a tool that scales faces according to distance from cursor? Done. Want one that splits the mesh into components made of its face sets, and then applies a custom smoothing operation on the edges? Done and done. Here is a video by one of Geometry Nodes most prolific developers, Hans Goudey, explaining this feature:
I can't wait to see what the community comes up with: I can already imagine the sea of community built node tools unlocking new workflows and streamlining old ones.
