Ton Roosendaal Wins The Jpr Technology Advancement Award

The John Peddie Tech Watch is a renowned report on the graphics industry. After having tracked Blender and Ton Roosendaal for years, they have now awarded him their Jpr Technology Advancement Award.

Jon Peddie Research has followed the evolution of the Blender software portfolio, the creation of the Blender Foundation and Blender Institute, and most recently the Blender Animation Studio, which is working on its first feature, Agent 327: Operation Barbershop.

Over the years we’ve gone from skeptical indulgence to open admiration as we’ve come to understand how someone, with a true commitment to cooperation, collaboration, and respect for the work of others, can build a thriving organization around free software and open project development.

We are proud to recognize Ton Roosendaal and the Blender Community with our Technology Advancement Award for 2019.

    Congrats to Ton and the team behind !
    I am pleased to see that more and more people seems to understand the idea behind opensouce.
    Ton have shown over the years with an remarkable creativity the possibility's of that way to create an
    software like blender and grow an fantastic community around that projekt.

    Yes indeed it is obvious now that Blender is recognized as such, free forever and for everyone without exception!
    The community is the cornerstone of this fabulous phenomenon that is sharing. The Blender Foundation is an unprecedented reference, unique in its kind.

    Truly deserved - Without Ton there would be no free Blender and the open source world would not have this amazing professional 3D authoring application !!!
