  1. Even after observing Andrew's personality after the years, the amount of ego, negativity , free bashing and misunderstanding of this interview was very surprising.

    - GPL / addons : like said elsewhere, there are viable solutions for monetization, some addons already do it and live. Furthermore, don't commercial addons for commercial softwares are heavily cracked and downloaded by those who don't want or can't afford them ?
    - what if Ton is not available to work as much for Blender ? Obviously this is being worked on, and multiple people at BF clearly understand his vision and could, and already do, alleviate the workload and keep Blender going. Seriously, thumbnail was "what if Ton dies" ?! wow, no shame..

    Could be renamed "Rebase Andrew on Autodesk ?!", and still fulfill the apparently vital need for clickbait and monetization.

  2. Allthoug Anrew has a million followers. he probably is not the right person to speak about, what Blender and the idea behind is standing for. Anyone of the Blender core team would have done it better -- I suspekt.

  3. I think this is a funny show to enjoy (although I would have preferred a adversarial, a debate) but I disagree on the vision of Blender.

    My impression is that, for Andrew, money is the measure for every decision and, in this video, for every development idea.
    The Blender license is criticized because it doesn't pay off, even though it is the basis of the hypothetical addons of Poliigon and the tool that used by its customers.

    I would also have liked some insights and analysis on some statements. For example the issue of e-cycles is more complicated than it looks at first glance:

    My idea is that Blender license is sharing not just code but knowledge. And proposes an strong alternative: developing a new tool that performs the same functions as an old tool, sometimes, means innovating.

    Or do we all have to use ZBrush and VRay on Windows?
    About this... to always propose a competitive tools race has become, for me, almost a boring conversation.
