Videotutorial: Symmetrical Particle Effects

7

particles.pngI was visiting Colin Levy's (effstops) site recently and saw an amazing animation using Blender's particle system. The animation was aptly named "Symmetrical Particles" but the title hardly does justice to its stunning visuals. And how was this done you might ask? Colin will tell you!

Colin was nice enough to send me the links to a video tutorial of how to do this, the final render of the tutorial, and a .blend file of the original animation, all of which you should be able to find on his site soon. Colin writes:

The video tutorial is here. And the Blender file for my original animation (Symmetrical Particles) is here. The final animation made during the tutorial... Sound would help so much! Music would make this ten times cooler.

This is a must see and really easy to accomplish thanks to Colin's overview. So check it out!

  1. Very nice tutorial, WAY awesome website. I spent the better part of an hour looking at all the content- to say the least, it's inspirational, and it definitely raises the bar a few notches.
