The good news keep coming for Blender on the Development Fund front: Intel has just upgraded their membership to Patron, making them a top contributor to Blender's development! This news comes only two short months after Apple joined the development fund, marking the milestone of all major silicon makers now being contributors to Blender's development.
Intel today upgraded their membership to Patron level.
"We share the Blender Foundation’s mindset to make world-class visual technologies available to everyone” said Intel's Raja Koduri. https://t.co/dubofc9LNc #b3d— Blender ? (@Blender) December 21, 2021
Intel's open source libraries such as Open Image Denoise and Embree feature prominently in Blender's toolbox, and Intel plans to continue supporting such development intiatives, including the incorporation of the "OneAPI" cross-architecture rendering toolkit and libraries.
Keep in mind that becoming a development fund member does not give the companies any ownership or control over Blender, which will always remain free and open source. More funding means more development time, means a better Blender, faster!

Great news, but still after many months Apple is nowhere to be seen on the fund page nor on the monthly contributions total (as far as I can remember numbers' progress). Anyone knows why?
wild guess- they just prefer to keep it low
This is a good question! I´m quite sure that you are correct that the numbers did not change (long time it was around 145k). I have no idea why they don´t show up... (except their metal developer in the team meetings)
