Motion Trail is a Blender add-on that allows for easy path editing in animations. As of the latest version, it also supports armatures.

Bart Veldhuizen I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

I've wanted this feature for so long in Blender, thank you, thank you Crouch. Epic addition to Blender.
ohh... I need such a thing since billion years ago...
please bundle it with default blender installation
That is so cool.
Excellent feature but still very buggy in pose mode... repeated crashes and strange behaviours.
lucky: you are right that pose mode isn't fully stable yet. Perhaps I should have postponed the release a bit, but the problem is that I won't be online for the next 3 weeks (summer job at a youth camp).
So development for this add-on will continue, but I won't be able to make any changes (or even reply) the next weeks.
This is such a great day! I hope this is part of the main program for 2.59.
It looks great!
Thank's a lot, can't wait for this! =)
freakin nice
Maybe it requires to actually use it to see it's power... because just watching the video demo, I haven't figured out what it actually does, and I don't see it's interest... All I see, is an object following a curve... What's new ? Sorry, I'm usually very enthusiastic with new Blender features, but I don't understand the advantage of this tool.
WOW ! thats what I said when I saw this great addon ! thank you Crouch, should be integrated by default, but needs stability first. keep doing excellent work man !
This is such an amazing add-on already. I didn't even know it worked with armatures. Thanks!
WOW! This is needed and much appreciated. Real-time adjusting of animation!!!
Sweet. Be sure to check out Gottfried's tutorial on it here:

ROUBAL: The advantage is that you have easier/ more visual control over the interpolation between two keyframes. It basically sets a 'path' for the object to follow to get from keyframe A to B that you can edit.
Thanks for such options
Thank you soooooo Much Bart Crouch !!
Two Thumbs up for your plug-in :-)
This is just like Autodesk. Blender is really stepping up there game. A faster renederer a more people would go to Blender
Thats a really impressive implementation - I've played with this feature in Messiah, but I like how you can adjust the timing right in the curve- looking forward to playing with this.
awesome work.
Bart: Your the man! Thanks a lot for this script!
Crouch, you're a freakin legend mate!
Brilliant Crouch! This has to be destined to be merged into the trunk. Look forward to trying it.
Awesome!!
THANKS ALOT MAN!!
@Patrick Boelens : Thanks for the precision. As I've not been on my workstation these days, I haven't been able to check the addon by myself.
Great, great feature. If You fix the pose mode issues, it should come pre installed. Nice work man, well done.
Excellent addon! Thanks!
very cool. I gave it a little test and it worked great.
