Arnold renderer is an impressive renderer currently in development by a company called Solid Angle. Though it's still in a closed beta, Rudy Cortez is already working on an exporter for blender called BtoA. He originally started on it back in 2.49, but paused to wait for the new 2.5 api to be finished before going ahead with it again. Hopefully when Arnold is available to the public there'll be a blender exporter on it's way too!

Really amazing renderer, I hope it wll be released soon! Is going to be pay software, right?
This is sooo awesome!
I have the chance to work with Arnold on Softimage XSI every day.
It's a very amazing and fast GI renderer. Futur availability of
the renderer for Blender is a very good news.
I also work with it at shedmtl..very powerful renderer
Also very expensive! I don't see blender hobbyist or even freelancer buying it...especially with cycles coming...
Aaaaand yet another render engine!
Good news.
It's always nice to see the different renders available for Blender,
specially internally. BUT, and a big BUT lol euhh... CAN'T wait for
Blender's new internal renderer CYCLES !!! It's going to kick ass.
(itsgoingtokickBIGbut;-))
This is great news. Also, while Cycles thus far looks great it is still an unbiased renderer so takes time to converge. It will be nice to see Cycles as a good enhancement over the current internal renderer in Blender. I think Arnold will be a good option to have if and when it goes public. Also have a look some of the current "real-time" renderers to get an idea of what is available industry wide. This is what I do when I begin to a comparative analysis for which render engine will best suit my needs. Furry Ball (furryball.aaa-studio.eu) and RenderAnts Pro (http://www.antspro.com)... One only needs to raise the bar to level set expectations.
Great GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
Plz support Cycles as well
THIS is GREAT NEWS!!!
@gustave Cycles and Arnold are are both unbiased physically based path tracers. Arnold has just been in development for a lot longer (over 10 years or so) so its more optimised .
The Arnold implematation won't be of any use for hobbyist Blender users, because it is not cheap and they probably won't sell single licenses. But it will definitely make some small till midsize studios getting interested in Blender (in fact I know it already has).
@tyrant thanks. I'm aware of Arnold and other renderers being inn this industry for quite sometime I have used a variety. Cycles is a great addition to blender. I will wait to see what comes of this implementation.
Looks interesting!
