By Yao Chan.
Step into ‘The Shambles’, a piece of history dating back to the 14th century, which also served as the inspiration for ‘Diagon Alley’ in Harry Potter.
Originally a bustling meat market with charmingly leaning timber-framed houses, today it’s a delightful lane filled with shops offering sweets, crafts, and souvenirs.
Don’t forget to climb the quaint staircases to cozy tearooms, where you can enjoy a comforting cup of tea and scones while soaking in York’s medieval charm, perhaps catching a glimpse of a mysterious figure in a long black robe at a street corner.
Thanks for watching my work!
