ANNA VARENDORFF
jeweller

Reworking elements of her urban surrounds into beautiful precious objects Australian jeweller and artist Anna Varendorff plays irreverently with ideas of precious and non-precious.

Having studied Gold and Silversmithing at Queensland College of Art, Anna began to seriously focus on jewellery design and production in 2004. Since then she has exhibited regularly at Artisan (formerly Craft Queensland), various Australian galleries and at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum.

Materials such as gold, silver, textile, steel and stone are formed into jewellery, sculpture and artworks investigating Anna’s personal relationship with her urban environment. Architectural detailing, local plants and the ever-fun and collectable souvenir teaspoon are all raw ingredients for Anna’s conceptual processes.
Maintaining her practice as a micro business enables Anna ultimate control over design and production from her studio.

Contemporary, fresh design is core to Anna’s practice, with a sculptural final outcome to her work.
