Interaction Designer and Film/TV

By night, Matt Morphett is a film and television composer.
From a background playing gigs and recording with indie rock bands in the 1990s, Matt started composing music for short films around 10 years ago.
After finding some success as the composer for a Melbourne Underground Film Festival winning short film - based on an Italo Calvino story - Matt studied Screen Composition at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School.
Matt has subsequently written and recorded music for some significant brands including The Brisbane International Film Festival, ABC Television, Jaguar and Disney.
Having lectured to both composers and film directors, Matt is keenly interested in the dynamic that exists between the two protagonists in this commercial and creative dialogue.
By day, Matt is an Interaction Designer, a profession that challenges him to make things easier for people.
Sometimes it’s about making products simpler or processes more efficient but usually it is about designing computer systems and websites that are easier to use.
