Having studied Science, majoring in Coastal Management, then Arts with a Double Architecture /Town Planning Major, a love of the outdoors, plants and the environment, Sidonie extended her studies to a Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture and Certificate of Urban horticulture. She has run her own business for the past 14 years.
A concern for environmental issues and the impact they are having on the future of Australian cities, specifically the issue of water management, and energy, led Sidonie to take an interest in green roofs and walls, their design and environmental benefits.
She was awarded an ISSI / Pratt Foundation Fellowship in 2006, allowing her to travel to study the design, implementation & benefits of green roofs and living walls.
She is currently the President of Green Roofs Australia Inc. a not for profit association started to support & provide effective strategies for the design & implementation of green roofs and walls into Australian cities.
She is the principle designer for her own Landscape Design Company – Green Canopy.
