Dominic Finlay-Jones was born in London, grew up in Fremantle and Canberra, before moving to Sydney to study architecture. Whilst in Sydney, he completed an pprenticeship under renown Sydney-School architect – Bruce Rickard.
Three years ago his wife won a fbi radio competition for a Splendour in the Grass weekend in Byron Bay. After that, they moved north.
Since the move Dominic has been working on an innovative mixed-use creative industries village in Byron Bay, and smaller individual housing projects with a focus on integration with the natural environment.
In 2008, he met Harley Graham at a party at Botanica, a Byron-based environmental housing collective.
Three months later they set up LOCUS•, a cross-platform design office focusing on architecture, art, landscape and urban design. LOCUS• has been working on a range of actual and theoretical projects since.
