TIM HILL + CAMILLA ROBERTS
QPIX : Film and Production

Tim started his career as a web developer but he was always passionate about film and television. After studying Screen Production at QPIX he went on to produce a multi-platform feature film called Jack Kain that rolled out on DVD and online. Jack Kain was a break-through concept – part film, part online game. This project proved to him that audiences were evolving and viewing behaviours were undergoing a revolution.

Tim has also produced two award-winning short films through QPIX’s Raw Nerve initiative - Blue Rinse Bandits and Jump. He has also produced TV commercials and music videos. In 2008, he was awarded a Creative Fellowship from the Pacific Film & Television Commission. Tim is currently the Development Coordinator at Hoodlum Active, a digital entertainment company in Brisbane. He is always interested in the latest technical advancements in the industry and continually strives to find new ways of connecting with modern audiences.

Starting in advertising with Publicis Mojo, Camilla went on to be selected as an interviewer for the American series, Road Trip Nation that airs nationally in the US. The series documented 3 Australian girls roadtripping around America booking and interviewing 30 inspiring people from all walks of life.

Interviewees were diverse and included screen writer, Caroline Thompson who wrote Edward Scissor Hands and Nightmare Before Christmas, Jeremy Ortega, Art Director at Juxtapoz magazine in San Francisco and molecular gastronomy extraordinaire, Chef Homaro Cantu in Chicago. Putting together a series of videos she then scored a job with her mate to travel around Australia and New Zealand for Wicked Campers creating videos of their adventures.

In partnership with her friend, Camilla presented, produced and edited the videos that were then used in international viral and guerilla marketing campaigns. Camilla recently started working with QPIX, Queensland’s non-profit, film and TV development centre. This year QPIX will produce a number of short dramas, documentaries, feature films and training programs with Queensland’s up and coming film and TV professionals.
