JULI GRBAC
fashion designer

From when she was little, Juli Grbac was designing her own clothes, and making meticulous eye for detail, hems and fit had to be perfect. It was this passion that led her to study Fashion Design at Gateway Tafe in Brisbane. After graduating as Student of the Year in 1998, Juli joined the team at Easton Pearson as a production assistant. Two years later she decided to further her studies by moving to London to attend the prestigious Central St Martins. Whilst studying part-time, she worked with Voyage as head handsewer, sewing diamantes onto garments for celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and Madonna.

In late 2002 she decided to return to Brisbane. Equipped with her passion, strive for excellence and many design ideas Juli decided to create her own label, working from her mums factory in Moorooka, the Grbac label was born. From silk camisoles to exquisite one-off gowns, Juli embraced femininity, her garments had a magical feel, and very quickly collated a following of clients.

A highlight to her career was when she was crowned winner of Arenas Reality Series Project Runway in September this year. Juli’s designs were showcased nationally during the series, which has now made the Grbac label a household name.
