“On bamboo 08” was held at Papua New Guinea's UNITECH campus with the architecture and building Departments. Held in August, the Master Klas explored the possibilities of bamboo’s architectonic, artistic and structural qualities.

Over the five day bamboo laboratory, ideas became materialised in corporeal projects – structures or pavilions. These pavilions were conceived as built research in which concepts, details, combinations of different materials and joinery were tested in a one-to-one scale.

11 Architects from Australian, England & Indonesia shared experiences and ideas with the PNG students to test, sculpt and create bamboo pavillions.
