graphic designer / lecturer

Tanya is one half of Rumpus Design, a small freelance design studio owned by herself and her husband.
Both are Graphic Designers who yearn to make an impact on the world through their design.

Tanya is an ex QCA graduate and has over 9 years experience as a designer. She has been involved in many creative projects in Brisbane as well as a two and a half year stint in London. Upon her return, she was uninspired and searching for something to fulfill her creative desires, so Tanya started Blanket magazine in August 2006 with friend, Bec Brown. A FREE online magazine born and bred in Brisbane - Blanket's aim was to "uncover" and reach out to creatives all across the world. It creates an opportunity for anyone to get their work out there and published and, with over 2000 subscribers all eagerly awaiting their Blanket fix, it is a great success. Since leaving Blanket to pursue personal goals in December 2007, Tanya has been working on a number of other creative projects.

On top of this, Tanya has been working as a Full Time lecturer at Shillington College for the past three years.
Here, she gets to do the three things she loves best: inspire others, talk into a microphone and design.
It is more of a mentor/art director style role in which she spends close to 40 hours a week with a class of 22 - teaching them how to get rid of widows and use the pen tool. The most rewarding part being graduation day when she gets to see the final printed portfolios along with 22 smiling faces!
